A Heritage of Innovation
Carbon8Lighting is proud of its heritage. In 1992, our parent company, Taran Microsystems Limited, was incorporated. Operating from a small business unit in Basingstoke, Hampshire, it set up manufacturing high-performance desktop and server computers. The Taran brand quickly became synonymous with high performance and reliability. By 1996, Taran was listed in the Sunday Times top 100 UK IT businesses and was presented an award by renowned entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson.
Applying the knowledge gained from the IT side of the business, Carbon8Lighting focused on key areas such as LED chip performance and thermal management, a subject that is critical for producing reliable, stable LED light fittings. By focusing on these and similar technical aspects during design, Carbon8Lighting is able to extract the maximum LED chip performance, producing the maximum amount of light for minimum energy consumption.
Carbon8Lighting products lead the industry in terms of energy efficiency, reliability, and durability, the latter being reflected in the warranties offered with Carbon8Lighting products. In fact, Carbon8Lighting is the only UK LED brand that includes light degradation as a warranty failure.

Carbon8 will offer the full range of Tormin ATEX certified LED Light fittings including high and low power high bay, flood lights, batten/linear fittings and exit signage. A number of the fittings come with the added benefit of optional integrated emergency lighting battery backup.
